MONO TO DOUBLE: WITH FALSE EYELASHES

Growing up, I had always wanted double eyelids.  When I was 14, I started experimenting with products, eg. eyelid glue, eyelid tape/fibers, even CLIPS!  I'll admit, I was being very optimistic when I purchased the clips knowing full well that they would not work.  Clearly I was desperate lol.

So fast forward, I've finally found the method that works for me, that being false eyelashes!  Definitely cheaper than going under the knife, and at least then, it gives me the option to play with different looks! ^-^

This post is just going to be a quick pictorial/explanation on how I managed to achieve double eyelids with falsies.  Please mind the poor quality photo's, I had to use my sister's laptop camera because we left the DSLR at my mom's.

Mono eyelid / Double eyelid
I usually conceal my under eyes after applying eye makeup.

I prefer to line my eyes before and after my eye shadow because it tells me how far to blend out my eye shadow.

^ Photoshopped an example LOL, well tried to anyways >_>
I applied the dark burgundy eye shadow on my outter V, concentrating on the area closest to where I applied eyeliner, blending upwards, still keeping the V formation.

KEY PART!!!!
I curl my eyelashes and then apply the glue directly onto my eyelid, letting it dry before I stick on my falsies, I find it helps keeps them from slipping around when I'm trying to push up the crease.

**TIP**
Eyelid glue plays a huge role in this step, because it stays tacky even after it "dries".  Really make's maneuvering your falsies 10000x easier!   I'm using Koji Eye talk (pink package).

I glue the falsies a little above my lash line, letting the rest of the glue dry clear (or until its tacky).  Then using clean fingers, I push the center of the falsies spine from underneath, upwards.  After achieving the desired crease, I go back over the top with a little bit of glue, seeing where the crease might need more "support".

This step in general actually takes a lot of time and patience, you're basically pushing the falsies spine around until you get your desired look.

The final look!  Meowww n_n

REVIEW: LUMINOUS CHANGE FALSE EYELASHES

I'm THE worst when it comes to Pacific mall, I always give in to my wants, and get thing's that I don't need/won't use.  This time I ended up getting eyelashes, I wanted to try a style that was waaay out of the norm for me.  I'm used to wearing criss-cross wispy styled lashes so "Girly eye" by Luminous Change was perfect.

01 GIRLY EYE

Missing piece :(
The packaging wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.  The glue they used to adhere the eyelashes to the plastic was sooo sticky that I ended up accidentally ripping off a small part of the eyelash.. this didn't happen once, but TWICE.  I was extra careful the second time too!  ...So that was definitely annoying/disappointing.

Very thin backbone, I'm guessing a pair would last maybe 3-4 wears as long as you're careful taking them off.

My monolid's did me nooo favours this time, they kept pushing down on the lashes that were glued close to the inner corners of my eye, so it kept brushing my eyeball @_@  Yes, I even tried moving them a litttttle further back but that just made it look awkward haha.

I like the way they look when my eyes are closed but I think I'll stick to my criss-cross wispy lashes instead. ^-^

05 GORGEOUS EYE

Muchhhh happier with this set!  It has a thicker spine, which helped me take it off the plastic MUCH easier without any problems!   Definitely my favourite go-to/everyday kinda lash!

Close up

I've had similar falsies to this before, each pair lasts roughly 5 wears, longer when I stack 2 together!

Hair's looking a little crazy, balcony door was open :x

The thicker band was able to push up my eyelid, thus giving me the crease for rounder eyes ^o^  Also wasn't very stiff so it felt comfortable.  I prefer having double eyelids than mono lids,  luckily I'm able to achieve both looks just by changing up my falsies!

------------------------------
Price was quite steep, I paid $22 each set but I have seen them on ebay for roughly $15.
Probably would not repurchase for myself, but would recommend to anyone looking for lashes with a lighter/more comfortable spine!

What's your favourite brand/style of falsies?
